“Train up a child inthe way he should go, and even when he is old he will not

depart from it.”Proverb 22:6

Sunday School Association is the students wing of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. At. St.Marys Sunday School we understand the value of instilling bibical values in our children.  Ours is one of the successful sunday school in southwest diocese because of the strong dedicstion and selfless efforts of our teachers. We follow the traditions of the Orthodox Church which took utmost care in educating the Children from the very begining the Values of Christian life, the contents of the Bible and the Church history. The program teaches our young generation, the Bible, original orthodox faith and beliefs so that they will practice them in their life ahead inorder to pass it along to the future generations. The "Koonenkurish Sathyam" in 1653 was the turning point. It emphasized the need for Catechism and Scriptural studies. During the 1765-1808 period, the study of sacraments and prayers were also included in the lessons. This was the beginning of the Sunday school in the Church. The Sunday School Samajam started functioning in 1931 with the appointment of Puthencavu Geevarghese Mar Philexinos as its President and Fr.K.David as the General Secretary. On 15 October 1964 it got its present form as "Orthodox Sunday School Association of the East" (OSSAE). Sunday School units are operating in the Orthodox Churches in and outside Kerala and  also overseas. Let the children come unto me; the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14.
